AI-Generated Beginner Workout

TRENDING

With artificial intelligence (AI) blowing up recently, many questions have come up. Is AI going to replace my job? Is AI dangerous? Is AI reliable?

Being a community of gym rats, of course, we have some fitness-related questions. Such as… Can AI help us get in shape?

So today we are going to test this and see if AI can generate a simple beginner workout, to help you get in shape easier.

What we asked AI

Of course, to run a real test we would need to ask AI a million questions with specifics and all. But for today we just simply told AI: “generate me a beginner workout program for building muscle”

This is what AI gave us…

Thoughts

After reviewing the workout AI gave us, it is generally a good place to start. While we are not AI experts, we are obsessed with all things fitness. And this workout has some problems.

For starters, the question we asked, “generate me a beginner workout program for building muscle”, is not specific so the workout will not be personalized at all. Maybe you have a bad knee, want a full-body workout program, or just simply hate a specific exercise.

On top of that, the workout includes some exercises that a beginner workout program most likely wouldn’t include, for your average gym newbie.

The truth of the matter is that creating a workout program is a deeply personalized experience. With lots of trial and error.

We are not here to tell you to use AI for fitness or not to use AI for fitness. In fact, there are many mobile apps and software trying their best to create a fully AI personal trainer. In our opinion, just like many AI-related tools, it should be left to humans for now.
