THE Turkey Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder, complete seasoning, peprika, garlic powder, and salt to taste
  • Whole-grain burger buns
     

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Turkey Patty:

In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped red onion, fresh parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

2. Shape the Patties:

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Ensure even thickness to promote uniform cooking.

3. Cook the Turkey Patties:

Heat a grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Cook the turkey patties for approximately 5-6 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

4. Toast the Whole-Grain Buns:

While the patties are cooking, slice the whole-grain burger buns and toast them for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

5. Assemble the Burger:

Place the cooked turkey patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top it with your favorite burger accompaniments such as crisp lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion rings.

6. Optional Extras:

Feel free to personalize your burger with extras like avocado slices, a dollop of Greek yogurt-based sauce, or a sprinkle of feta cheese.
