Honey Garlic Shrimp and Rice

Shrimp is one of the best food for weight loss, due to it having high protein, and extreamly low calories. It's basically free protein! Here is a delicious recipe including it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, honey, and soy sauce to make the sauce.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp, and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the honey garlic shrimp over cooked brown rice.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
