Air Fried Sweet Potato Chips

GOOD EATS

We have all heard of sweet potatos. They are tasty and the have complex carbs to help fuel our gains in the gym. But today we are adding a nice twist to your average sweet potato to help keep things fresh.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes

  2. Prepare Sweet Potatoes: Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skin on for added fiber and nutrients. Using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer, slice the sweet potatoes into thin, uniform rounds, about 1/8 inch thick. The thinner you slice them, the crispier they'll become.

  3. Season Sweet Potato Slices: In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato slices with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, and cayenne pepper if using. Make sure the slices are evenly coated with the seasonings.

  4. Arrange in Air Fryer Basket: Place the seasoned sweet potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they're not overlapping. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

  5. Air Fry: Cook the sweet potato chips in the preheated air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Keep a close eye on them during the last few minutes to prevent burning, as cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the slices and the efficiency of your air fryer.

  6. Check for Crispiness: Once the sweet potato chips are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving plate or bowl. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

  7. Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy the air-fried sweet potato chips as a nutritious snack or side dish. They're delicious on their own or paired with your favorite dip or sauce.
